Skyservice: What service?

"At Skyservice we appreciate the trust you place in us each time you board our aircraft. You can be assured that we always strive to provide you with a ..."

That's from their website.

Someone stole the big memory cards from my camera. Close enough in cost to the deductible, but not enough.

I'm out the coin, 1,000 pictures, my privacy has been violated, and what does Skyservice do?

Within 2 minutes, the boss lady informs the phone-answerer, "Nope. No refund."

Never even bothered to ask what kiund of memory cards they were. Apparently, I have a claim in now.

Do I have a claim number? No.

What will happen? Can I have a report?

No.

How do I know you're looking into it?

Management does. Their findings are secret.

-------Now, I been thinkin' 'bout this for a few days. There's no one gone touched that camera bag but me. AND THE THIEF.

Now why doesn't someone come and take fingerprints? The find out who was working what flights. There's your choices. Find the theivin' bastard!

The great sadness is that the police won't do anything about it, and they will say I watch too much CSI. Blown off by people who have worse stories to tell and won't even look up from their computers to look me in the eye.

So why should getting my stuff back be such a secret?

And another thing - why should I be screened several times and be imposed upon to throw out a bottle of water - when the baggage handlers aren't bonded? How 'secure' is that?

I think it happened in Toronto, too. But hey, I watch too much CSI. I certainly don't place much trust boarding your aircraft (hey, we had great service from the crew on board), and I can't really be assured to too much right now.

How about details like: Where's the stuff that was stolen?

Frankly, we try to avoid this airline like the plague.
